The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

  Joshua Duncan grew up in the rougher parts of Los Santos, surrounded by crime, corruption, and constant chaos. His childhood was anything but easy, and his parents, though loving, were struggling to make ends meet. Seeing the world around him, Joshua developed a strong sense of justice from an early age. He knew that to make a real difference, he couldn’t just sit on the sidelines. His love for mixed martial arts began as a way to defend himself in a neighborhod where fights were common, but it quickly became a passion. By his late teens, Joshua had trained extensively, becoming an amateur fighter known for his discipline, work etic, and calm under pressure. He loved the mental challenge MMA presented. But beyond that, martial arts taught him patience, control, and respect for others, qualities that would later become essential in his life. While the world around him was filled with crime and lawlessness, Joshua kept his head straight, never getting involved in illegal activities. He worked hard, took odd jobs, everything from security work to bartending and spent his nights reading books on law enforcment, criminology, and leadership. He often daydreamed about becoming a cop, a protector of the very streets he grew up on. To him, the badge wasn’t just a symbol of authority, it was a chance to right the wrongs of his community..
