PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION – Police Officer
(Rev 03/2022)

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.
  • • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

    • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

    • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write “DNA” (does not apply) in the space provided.

    • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the department. Do NOT send the form to POST.

(( Your application must be titled "Firstname Lastname. ))

(( Your answers should only replace the fields that say "Answer." It should not extend outside the color code box. ))

(( Do not edit the application format in any way. You may add additional fields to any area or questions or replace hyperlinks with DNA. ))

(( You may be non-select if your application is put on "Pending" status more than twice for formatting issues or missing questions. This is also the case in character. ))

(( Upon completion of this application, your character will undergo a 'psychological evaluation'. This is entirely an NPC process. It is your responsibility to inform the Personnel and Training Division if your psychological evaluation fails or shows any concerns. ))

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

Evan Chandler was born on June 25, 2003, at Los Santos Hospital, as the third child in the Chandler family. His father was a District Attorney, a man known for his fairness and deep dedication to upholding the law and justice. His mother worked as a nurse, always caring and attentive both to her patients and to her family. He grew up in a home where stories about justice, laws, and caring for others were a daily part of life. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a police officer because he wanted to help people through his work and contribute to the safety of his community. Although his parents had very demanding jobs, they always gave him strong support and were his greatest pillars. As a child, Evan often spent time with his parents, listening to their stories about different cases and the people they helped. His father would often say: “A true police officer is not just one who enforces the law, but one who knows how to listen, understand, and protect every person.” These words deeply engraved themselves in his memory and shaped his worldview and the career he aspired to. At school, he was a good student, but especially enjoyed physical education and social studies classes. He eagerly participated in school programs that promoted safety and community support. Every time he saw a police patrol on the street, he felt proud and dreamed of the day when he would wear the uniform and serve his community himself. Before turning 21, Evan worked at the Local Youth Center as a youth program coordinator. In that role, he organized various activities and workshops, focusing particularly on violence prevention and educating young people about the law. This job opened his eyes even more and strengthened his desire to help his community, as he saw firsthand how important support is for young people as they grow and make good decisions. When he turned 21, Evan enrolled in the Los Santos Police Academy. Even as a cadet, he quickly stood out his determination, work ethic, and sincere desire to serve people were clearly visible to everyone around him. After graduating from the academy, he became a proud police officer, ready to make his city a safer and better place for all its residents. Evan Chandler is a true example of how persistence, family support, and a genuine desire for justice can lead to achieving great dreams, even in a large and challenging city like Los Santos.
