The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

  Mason was born in Westside Los Santos. From a young age, Mason wondered how people became police officers and always dreamed of becoming one himself protecting his family and his country from "bad people." He started watching a lot of police movies and series, also listening to radio stations about how police helped people and arrested robbers. When he got to school, he focused on studying hard to make his dream come true. His parents supported him, and on his birthday, he was gifted a police toy set. He was thrilled, spending his time arresting and playing with the toys. He was always respectful toward everyone.
  
  When Mason entered high school, his grades started to drop. He became lazy and didn’t want to study. After a year, he remembered his dream of becoming a police officer, and he realized that he needed to study harder to make that dream a reality one day. He felt more motivated and energized to study again.
  
  After high school, he went to Los Santos University to study Criminal Justice. He was getting closer to his dreams. At university, he always kept in mind his goal of becoming a police officer and making his parents and relatives proud. Mason knew he wouldn’t become one if he stopped focusing on his university work, so he kept pushing through everything to make his younger self proud. His primary focus was to become a humble and great individual who could help others. He always had the courage to take on challenges in life, but there was one huge problem his family wasn’t rich, and they needed money to live. That’s when Mason started working at a Local Restaurant.
  
  The work was tiring, and after long shifts, he found it hard to focus on studying. But he also knew his family needed financial help. So, as he was in his last year of university, he sat down to figure out a solution. He told himself, "No matter what, I’m still going to become a police officer." Mason spoke to his parents, asking them to make it through just one more year, and then he quit his job to focus full-time on his studies.
  
  After university, he began searching for a job, and one lucky day, he saw an advertisement in the newspaper about the Los Santos Police Department hiring academy students. That was his last chance to make his dreams come true and help his family.
