PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION – Police Officer
(Rev 03/2022)

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.
  • • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

    • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

    • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write “DNA” (does not apply) in the space provided.

    • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the department. Do NOT send the form to POST.

(( Your application must be titled "Firstname Lastname. ))

(( Your answers should only replace the fields that say "Answer." It should not extend outside the color code box. ))

(( Do not edit the application format in any way. You may add additional fields to any area or questions or replace hyperlinks with DNA. ))

(( You may be non-select if your application is put on "Pending" status more than twice for formatting issues or missing questions. This is also the case in character. ))

(( Upon completion of this application, your character will undergo a 'psychological evaluation'. This is entirely an NPC process. It is your responsibility to inform the Personnel and Training Division if your psychological evaluation fails or shows any concerns. ))

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

  • Spoiler: show
George Cale was born in the year 2002 in Lav Venturas to Sergeant Raymond Cale, a dedicated policeman who dedicated his life to duty. George enjoyed growing up and seeing his father's work in the background, perpetually fascinated by his father's bravery, discipline, and justice, qualities that shaped his personality. As a child, George was very much an admirer of his father's attempts to protect people, dreaming of the day when he would follow in his father's footsteps as a police officer.

When George attended high school, he discovered yet another passion for the law itself and wanted to explore deeper into the system. His ambition grew not only to be a cop but to become well-versed in the laws that ruled society. He took a course at Lav Venturas University after high school to become a lawyer and wanted to create a foundation which would allow him to progress further in the world of law enforcement with an ingenious mind and great knowledge.

During school, George was always conflicted between the world of academia and the call to serve on the streets. He volunteered at a community center teaching at-risk children their legal rights, hoping to empower them to be able to deal with the system. George knew that most of these children had backgrounds such as his own and he felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility to assist them in making improved choices.

There was one night when there was a scuffle with the police in George's neighborhood. His father had been involved in it, asserting control as the officers tried to negotiate with a frantic man. Gazing out of the shadows, George respected his father and felt the now-acquainted police adrenaline pumping through his own system. When his father's eyes met his across the street, George knew that this was his fate—he wasn't simply studying the law; he was learning to become a part of it.

As George pressed on in his law studies, he struggled with the tension between living as a student and his desire to be a policeman. He knew the job would be dangerous, difficult, and often morally complex. But as time passed, he became more determined. His father's example and the community's needs nudged him. George knew that to become a police officer who would be making a difference, he would need to know things and be brave, and he was willing to battle for that. The ride ahead was not going to be an easy one, but George was prepared to leave his mark, marrying his passion for law and law with an equally profound faith in justice.
