PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION – Police Officer
(Rev 03/2022)

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.
  • • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

    • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

    • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write “DNA” (does not apply) in the space provided.

    • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the department. Do NOT send the form to POST.

(( Your application must be titled "Firstname Lastname. ))

(( Your answers should only replace the fields that say "Answer." It should not extend outside the color code box. ))

(( Do not edit the application format in any way. You may add additional fields to any area or questions or replace hyperlinks with DNA. ))

(( You may be non-select if your application is put on "Pending" status more than twice for formatting issues or missing questions. This is also the case in character. ))

(( Upon completion of this application, your character will undergo a 'psychological evaluation'. This is entirely an NPC process. It is your responsibility to inform the Personnel and Training Division if your psychological evaluation fails or shows any concerns. ))

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

  • Spoiler: show
When I stepped off the plane at LSX, I made myself a promise: I wouldn’t become what everyone back home expected. In a small town outside of Naples, Italy, you either fell in line—or you didn’t make it. I lost my older brother Marco that way. A stray bullet from a gang crossfire took his life while he was simply trying to stay out of trouble. That tragedy didn’t just hurt—it shaped me. I wasn’t looking for revenge. I was looking for change.

After settling in Idlewood, I kept to myself. I worked hard as a mechanic and stayed clear of trouble. But no matter how far I stayed from crime, it always found a way to surround the people I cared about. I saw fear in the eyes of families trying to raise their kids right. I saw too many young people walking paths that only end one way. And I realized that staying quiet was no longer an option. So now, I’m stepping forward.

I’m applying to the Los Santos Police Department not because I think I’m flawless—but because I understand. I’ve stood at the edge of the darkness this city faces, not as a criminal, but as someone who’s lost family to it. I know what it means to walk the line between keeping your soul clean and surviving in a place that doesn’t always play fair. That gives me a perspective I know can help this department.

Hard work has never scared me. My father taught me that fixing what’s broken takes time, patience, and the willingness to get your hands dirty. That’s what I’ve done as a mechanic, and it’s what I want to do as an officer. Not just enforce the law—but help rebuild trust. Especially in neighborhoods that haven’t seen it in years.

My background has given me more than skill—it’s given me empathy. I don’t just see criminals; I see people. Some lost, some scared, some out of options. And while I believe firmly in justice, I also believe in second chances. Because I got one—and it changed my life.

Joining the LSPD is more than a career choice for me. It’s my way of fighting back against what tore my family apart. It's a chance to be the hand that helps someone off the edge, before it's too late. I’m ready to serve, protect, and represent this city with the integrity it deserves.
