The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

  Huang Delan is a young Chinese female who was born in Xi'an on November 7th. She was raised in a typical environment that allowed her to lead a normal life without experiencing a difficult childhood. Huang is the only child of her father, Zhu Delan, and her mother, Ding Yaling. As a result, she was often spoiled by her family. Her father worked as a math teacher at a high school in Xi'an, while her mother did not work, as she did not need to.
  
  Huang entered school at the age of six, but school was never her thing. She was never good at studies and often had bad grades. Huang wasn’t really interested in being a good student; her mind was always focused on table tennis. She would watch international competitions and found inspiration in players like Xu Xin. Her father supported her decision and helped her secure the best Chinese table tennis coaches when she was seven. While her mother wasn’t entirely on board with this idea, she couldn’t help but see how happy it made her daughter. Huang continued training until high school, and after almost eight years of consistent training, she received her first team offer. She hadn't pursued any clubs before, as she was training purely for enjoyment.
  
  One day, while training, a club manager approached her, believing she would be a perfect fit as the third player for their team. Huang excitedly shared the news with her family, but unfortunately, her mother didn’t seem to care. She didn't see her daughter the way she had hoped—she wanted her to be a good student, perhaps even a doctor. To her, Huang had failed in life. However, her father fully supported her and encouraged her to accept the offer, but he asked her to keep a promise: she would also focus on her studies, so she wouldn't disappoint her mother.
  Over time, Huang decided to quit studying when she turned sixteen and fully commit to table tennis. She even made the difficult decision to leave her family home and live in the club’s rooms reserved for players, leaving her mother behind. She felt that this was the only way she could truly follow her passion and pursue her dreams.
  
  With time, Huang received an invitation to join the Chinese National Team. It was the best news she had ever received. She cried all night after hearing it; she had finally made her dream come true. Huang played internationally for three years, gaining experience and recognition, but a personal tragedy would change the course of her life forever. Her mother, Ding Yaling, who had never fully supported Huang's dedication to table tennis, fell into deep despair over her daughter’s absence. Feeling abandoned, she tragically took her own life.
  
  Devastated by the loss and unable to cope with the weight of her mother’s death, Huang could no longer continue living in China. She felt the crushing burden of guilt and emotional turmoil. The life she had once dreamed of now felt meaningless without her mother’s approval. In search of a fresh start and to escape the shadows of her past, Huang decided to leave everything behind. She set her sights on the United States, hoping to find peace and a new purpose.
  
  She searched for job opportunities in the U.S., and after months of uncertainty, Huang secured a visa to work in a small café in Los Santos, It wasn’t much, but it was a chance for her to start over, to heal, and to rebuild herself in a place where no one knew her past. Huang hoped that, perhaps, in this new chapter of her life, she might find a sense of belonging again. She also planned to become a personal trainer, helping people get fit and ready for sports, or simply guiding them to live healthier lives. Huang believed that, through fitness, she could find a new purpose and connect with others who were also striving to better themselves. It was her way of starting fresh, using the passion and discipline she had gained from table tennis to inspire others, while healing her own heart.
