Los Santos Police Department
PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION – Police Officer
(Rev 03/2022)

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.
  • • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

    • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

    • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write “DNA” (does not apply) in the space provided.

    • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the department. Do NOT send the form to POST.

(( Your application must be titled "Firstname Lastname. ))

(( Your answers should only replace the fields that say "Answer." It should not extend outside the color code box. ))

(( Do not edit the application format in any way. You may add additional fields to any area or questions or replace hyperlinks with DNA. ))

(( You may be non-select if your application is put on "Pending" status more than twice for formatting issues or missing questions. This is also the case in character. ))

(( Upon completion of this application, your character will undergo a 'psychological evaluation'. This is entirely an NPC process. It is your responsibility to inform the Personnel and Training Division if your psychological evaluation fails or shows any concerns. ))

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

  • Spoiler: show
Timothy Flores arises from a small town in Venturas' suburbs called "Cinco Ranch", for some a rough neighborhood, for some-a never changing home. A land of breathtaking contrasts, where sprawling bluebonnet fields meet the rugged beauty of the Hill Country. Flores navigated the vines of faith and expectation within his rough-hewn religious family. His father, a steadfast mail clerk with a voice that echoed scripture, instilled a sense of duty that often felt like a heavy cloak draped over Timothy’s young shoulders. His mother, tirelessly scrubbing the floors of the local elementary school, infused their small farmhouse with an unwavering resilience, reminding Timothy of the importance of hard work and humility. Amidst the dusty fields and the fervent prayers that filled their home, Timothy wrestled with the weight of his family's devotion, yearning to carve his own path in a world where faith and family intertwined like the roots of the ancient oaks lining their modest property.
Growing up in a strictly religious family, he was inspired by the stories of his father, stories about justice being served, about the big world ideas and conspiracies, and resilience as a community advocate. These early influences made him desire to make a difference. Timothy, being an only child in the family, navigated the tumultuous halls of high school with resilience, facing challenges that many of his classmates couldn’t imagine. He often arrived at school wearing hand-me-down clothes and carrying the weight of financial insecurity. While others enjoyed the luxuries of new gadgets and extracurricular activities, Timothy found solace in books and the support of a few close friends. Timothy was just fifteen when his family faced a significant challenge: his father, who worked as a mail clerk, had hurt his back and was forced into early retirement. This event shook Timothy’s world, and also put him in a spot to think for the future, his future, and his family's, igniting his passion for starting something on his own. In high school, he excelled in debate club and took part in youth leadership programs, gaining a reputation as a thoughtful advocate for his peers. In the end, Timothy emerged not just as a survivor of his circumstances, but as a beacon of hope, proving that with grit and perseverance, one can rise above adversity and shape a brighter future.
After graduating, he was met with an opportunity to travel to the city of embodiment with his uncle, as he was starting a new job there, and he needed a hand: Los Santos, state of SA. He enrolled in a law school, immersing himself in courses that covered constitutional law, criminal justice, and civil rights.
He was generally curious, but also he believed that understanding the law deeply would equip him for his ultimate goal—joining the department there and becoming a detective in the Major Crimes division. Living in LS was a culture shock; the city’s diversity and vibrant energy both excited and overwhelmed him. He found solace in community outreach programs, volunteering in neighbourhoods that faced challenges similar to those back home. Here, he saw firsthand the complexities of law enforcement and the importance of community trust. Coming from a tough neighbourhood in the suburbs of Las Venturas, there isn't that big of a challenge that would make him wanna quit. He is simply ready for his idea— his agenda.
