Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

    Garry Manning wasn't really an average guy. Born and raised in the small place around East Los Santos, he was surrounded by lush green fields and the soothing hum of nature. From a young age, Garry displayed an insatiable curiosity and an uncanny knack for fixing things. His father, a mechanic at the local auto repair shop, recognized this early on and took Garry under his wing.

    Garry's journey took him to courage himself in sports, especially taekwondo. Garry excelled academically and physically throughout his school years, always driven by a desire to make a difference. He found work as a professional trainer in a short time, absorbing every bit of knowledge he could find. Along the way, he encountered challenges that tested his skills and resolve, but he never backed down.

    Growing up in a modest neighborhood on the outskirts of Los Santos, Garry was the middle child in a close-knit family. His parents worked tirelessly to provide for their three children, instilling in them the values of hard work, perseverance, and ambition. From an early age, Garry displayed an insatiable curiosity about the world around him, often exploring the city's diverse neighborhoods and soaking in the rich tapestry of cultures that defined Los Santos.

    Thank you for applying for the position of Police Officer with the City of Los Santos. Your interest in providing public safety services to those who live, work, and visit in Los Santos is appreciated.

    The Los Santos Police Department has reviewed all of the information you have submitted or which has been developed to date as part of your application for the position of Police Officer. As a result of that review, we have determined that you are not among the most qualified candidates and you are being disqualified. In particular, our investigation identified concerns related to the following Background Standard(s): Driving under the Influence is a serious offense that involves impaired driving and poses risks to public safety. We appreciate your transparency and honesty in the application but we highly advise you to take a rehabilitation program about this matter before applying again for the position of Police Officer.

    You may reapply for the position of Police Officer on or after November, 4th, 2023. At this time, you may file a disqualification appeal. Your appeal must be mailed to the Commanding Officer, Recruitment and Employment Division. Your appeal must include the following information:
