Los Santos Police Department
PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION – Police Officer
(Rev 03/2022)

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Preliminary Background Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of City of Los Santos Police Officer, in accordance with San Andreas POST Commission Regulation 1953.
  • • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

    • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

    • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write “DNA” (does not apply) in the space provided.

    • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the department. Do NOT send the form to POST.

(( Your application must be titled "Firstname Lastname. ))

(( Your answers should only replace the fields that say "Answer." It should not extend outside the color code box. ))

(( Do not edit the application format in any way. You may add additional fields to any area or questions or replace hyperlinks with DNA. ))

(( You may be non-select if your application is put on "Pending" status more than twice for formatting issues or missing questions. This is also the case in character. ))

(( Upon completion of this application, your character will undergo a 'psychological evaluation'. This is entirely an NPC process. It is your responsibility to inform the Recruitment and Employment Division if your psychological evaluation fails or shows any concerns. ))

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

In the heart of Mexico City, there lived Raoul and Mariah Contreras, a loving couple with dreams of a better life. Raoul, a skilled mechanic, worked tirelessly, while Mariah sold delicious Mexican dishes from a food stand. In 1992, their dreams led them to America, where they welcomed their son, Artemio Contreras to life.

Artemio grew up in a vibrant blend of Mexican and American cultures. But as a teenager, he fell in with the wrong crowd, getting involved in petty crimes. His parents, who had sacrificed so much for a brighter future, watched in concern.

Artemio's reputation as a troublemaker grew, and he faced brushes with the law. Yet, with unwavering support from his parents, he had a moment of realization. He decided to distance himself from his troubled friends and focused on education.

Artemio graduated from high school and pursued a college degree, breaking the cycle of hardship. His transformation from a troubled youth to a responsible adult was a testament to the power of determination and family support.

The Contreras family's story reminds us that, even in the face of adversity, with love and determination, a brighter future can be achieved.

Artemio was a unique figure in the neighbourhood. With a blend of street smarts and a natural charisma, he managed to hustle his way around smoothly, all while maintaining a reputation of being someone everyone wanted by their side. He was a master of adaptability and had a remarkable talent for building connections.

Growing up, Artemio had honed his skills in his old neighbourhood, where he was a trusted figure among his peers. He had a knack for finding opportunities where others saw challenges, and his ability to read people and situations gave him an edge. Whether it was brokering deals, lending a helping hand, or just offering valuable advice, Artemio was the guy to turn to.

In his former neighbourhood, Artemio had earned the respect of both friends and so called rivals, but he never crossed the line over into anything that could compromise his future. His charisma and resourcefulness allowed him to navigate the streets without making enemies. almost undetected. He understood that building relationships was key to survival, and he had a knack for turning adversaries into allies, as he never crossed anyone - wise choice on the streets.

However, Artemio's life took a significant turn when he moved to a new city where he didn't know anyone. This fresh start was a challenge, but he approached it with the same adaptability and charisma that had served him so well in the past. He knew that building a new network would take time but business is always rewarding once you get there.

Artemio was not tall but neither the shortest of them all at 5ft7 - however he had a natural semi-athletic body.

As years passed Artemio has now changed his style, started working a stable job - grinding trying to achieve a better life staying away from the crime Los Santos is filled with.

He is now interested in a career rather than just a job.

In the new city, Artemio's reputation as a savvy hustler began to grow once again. He started to work and purchased himself a black van which is something he has always wished for, a chance to do some honest work. People were drawn to his charisma and his ability to make things happen, so he always had a job as a trucker. Although he didn't have the established network he once had, he was confident that with his unique set of skills and charm, he could build a new community of supporters and allies who would be there by his side, just as they had been in his old neighbourhood, but now in business.

However the life of a trucking job can become unsatisfying and therefore a change was needed for Artemio.
