Civilian Employment Opportunities

The Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) employs civilians in a wide variety of administrative, technical, scientific, and administrative support functions. The civilian employees of the LSPD work together with the sworn officers in meeting the community’s law enforcement and public safety needs. Civilian employees are responsible for performing such duties as: answering 911 emergency calls; staffing front desks in community police stations; collecting and analyzing evidence from crime scenes; collecting and identifying fingerprints; providing information to officers in the field; maintaining the Department’s records; and preparing and administering the Department’s budget.

NOTE: Filing may be closed without prior notice after a sufficient number of applications have been received. For administrative purposes, filing may close periodically at the discretion of the Commanding Officer, Recruitment and Employment Division.

SELECTION PROCESS
  1. PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION (PBA): All applicants must complete the [Preliminary Background Application in which basic information such as employment history, criminal record, and educational records are gathered from the candidate and thoroughly investigated.

  2. DEPARTMENT INTERVIEW (DI): The Department Interview will be conducted by a panel to assess your personal accomplishments, job motivation, instrumentality, interpersonal skills, continuous learning orientation, and oral communication skills. Only those candidates who pass this part of the process will receive a Conditional Job Offer. The passing score for the DI portion is 70% or higher, and your score is valid for 60 days should you wish to withdraw your application. Additional information on this step will be provided privately.

  3. APPOINTMENT: Candidates with a passing score on the Department Interview will be offered to join the Los Santos Police Department and provided induction by the relevant bureau, group, division, or section. Additional information on this step will be provided privately.
